Speaking & Teaching

Overview

I offer biblically grounded teaching and theological education for churches, leaders, and organizations seeking clarity, depth, and faithful engagement with Scripture.


For over thirty years, I have taught the Bible in a variety of settings, with a consistent focus on expository, text-centered teaching that takes Scripture seriously and connects it thoughtfully to lived experience.


My aim is not to create momentary inspiration, but to help people see Christ more clearly, understand the Gospel more deeply, and leave with durable insight rather than emotional exhaustion.

Teaching Approach

My teaching is shaped by the following commitments:


  • Scripture-centered and expositional
    Teaching draws meaning from the biblical text itself, treating Scripture as authoritative, sufficient, and worthy of careful attention.
     
  • Formational, not performative
    The goal is clarity, repentance, endurance, and maturity—not emotional manipulation or motivational spectacle.
     
  • Clear and grounded
    Theological depth without unnecessary jargon; accessible without being shallow.
     
  • Realistic about suffering and limitation
    Especially attentive to grief, burnout, moral complexity, and faithfulness under pressure—without assuming a pastoral care role.
     
  • Context-aware and collaborative
    Willing to work within a given theme or series while remaining faithful to Scripture.

Common Teaching Contexts

I am most often invited to teach in settings such as:


  • Sunday, weekend, or midweek teaching
     
  • Retreats and teaching intensives
     
  • Leadership gatherings and ministry trainings

  • Podcasts, interviews, and educational forums
     

Teaching engagements are bounded and defined, with clarity around scope, preparation, and expectations.

I am based in Mt. Washington, Kentucky and accept a limited number of speaking and teaching engagements each year.
